A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. ~ Luke 6:45
What you say matters. Our words, whether good or ill, can have long ranging effects. God tells us in Luke 6:45 that we speak what the heart is full of.
I read somewhere that an evil person can pretend to be good but a good person cannot pretend to be evil. Listening to what others say and how they speak can help us discern what kind of person they are. It tells us what their heart is made of.
As Christians we have love firmly in our hearts. We can reflect Christ in our hearts by speaking wholesome, good words that build each other up (see Ephesians 4:29).
I hope dear Reader as you go about your day, you take the opportunity to speak kindly to, and of, people. Let your words heal and uplift. Let it demonstrate care for people. Share the good that’s in your heart.
God bless ~ Mary
