Doing good for others

In Galatians 6:9-10, we are instructed not to grow weary of doing good. That “as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

We all have talents and abilities. It’s important we use those to serve GOD by helping each other. We don’t need to do something extravagant to make a big difference to someone else’s life.

In Acts 9:36, we’re introduced to a disciple named Tabitha. She is described as always doing good and helping others. We can do the same – by sharing our gifts, talents and time we can support one another and help each other along life’s journey. Maybe you have a talent for listening and counseling – you can offer these gifts to a friend who might be feeling upset. Or maybe you, like Tabitha, are good at sewing. She made clothes for the widows in Joppa. Maybe you can donate some of your works to a local charity. I don’t have many talents but I did have something else — time. So I used to volunteer for a kids organisation helping disadvantaged students with their homework. These days, I don’t have as much time anymore but I try to use my energy and efforts in serving my family.

I hope even in our busy lives, we can try our best to give some of our talents, effort and time to helping others. In doing so we can honor and give service to GOD.

God bless you ~ M
