It can be hard sometimes to make decisions. We could be confused about what to do. Or it could be that we’re facing life-changing choices and we’re unsure about the best steps to take.
It’s good to seek advice when you’re not sure what to do. We can always go to someone we trust. For example, it could be our mother, a pastor or a good friend. But how we do know that their advice is appropriate and best? By examining their words against the Word of GOD we can assess the counsel others give.
Does it align with GOD’s instructions? Does it honor Him and lead you to seek His will? Do their words reflect a sincere and sympathetic sentiment towards you and your best interests?
James 1:5 says “if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”.
We can always pray to GOD for wisdom to discern good advice, and help us to decide to follow someone else’s suggestions or do something completely different. In all things, we should seek GOD’s counsel – for guidance in assessing other people’s words and to make good choices that honor His will.
We are blessed that we can choose to turn to Him. After all, He is the best Counselor we could ever find.
God bless you ~M
