Do you remember pop quizzes at school? I found them stressful because you never knew when the teacher would put you to the test. I knew I should have, but didn’t always, study consistently to be prepared for these quizzes. It’s been a long time since my school days. However, I find that I’m still faced with surprise tests when life doesn’t turn out the way I expect or plan.
GOD made us in His image. He wants us to reflect Him in all ways. This sometimes requires tests along the way to ensure we are consistently applying His teachings. When we don’t, we may find a correction happens which can at times be quite painful. However, we can be assured that GOD only wants the best for us, and Proverbs 3:12 tells us that God corrects those whom He loves.
GOD wants us to learn His words and reflect His teachings in our lives. This ensures we make the right decisions, treat others with love and acceptance and ultimately achieve true joy.
David, the man after God’s own heart says in Psalm 139:23-24 “search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me,and lead me in the way everlasting.”
I hope we can all pray the same prayer that David made, and ask GOD to test and refine us. May we, as we go through our tests begin to resemble Him as He leads us in the way of our salvation.
God bless you ~M
