How are you this Easter? I hope dear Reader, this finds you well. Yesterday was Good Friday and, much like most of the Christian world, I was reflecting on Jesus’ sacrifice for our salvation. I can’t even imagine the unfathomable distress Jesus was feeling when He, even He, prayed to the Father “if You are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42). Jesus knew of course, that death would only be temporary and that in three days He would rise again. But until then, the weight of our sin was on Jesus and He, for a time would be separated from our Father. There was immense darkness before light will come again.
What made Jesus do what He did? Love. One simple word but how great it’s cost to our Savior.
God doesn’t just tells us He loves us. He proved it beyond any doubt when He suffered on the cross thousands of years ago.
God tells us in John 3:16 ” For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
I am thankful for God’s sacrifice and faithful love. God loves us so much that He endured unimaginable suffering to save us from our sins. May we honor Him by practicing love in return – loving GOD first and foremost. And loving each other with brotherly and sisterly love.
God bless you ~M
