What are you looking for in life? If we’re like most people, we’re probably searching for happiness. Not the transient kind, but the deep, soul-enriching kind. Some people find happiness in relationships which, when they break down can cause devastation. Some may find it in material things but again, that’s not the deep and abiding kind of happiness.

So where do we find it? How can we be really, truly happy? There are many trite sayings about finding happiness, but there is one that proves true — “happiness starts with you”. You have to make the first step in recognising where true happiness comes from. And that is in GOD Himself.

In Psalm 1: 1-2 He tells us “happy is the man……. whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and whose mind is on His law day and night.”. Further, GOD tells us in Psalm 144:15 “happy are the people whose God is the LORD.”

If you are looking for something that will fill your heart with true happiness, look to GOD. He will give you the joy you are seeking. Pour out your heart and worries to Him and watch your worries disappear. In all things, “may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13).
